First, "The Prayer" was recorded as two separate solo versions, Céline Dion's in English and Bocelli's in Italian. They appeared on the Quest for Camelot soundtrack in May 1998. The duet was included on both artists' albums, released a few months later. Dion's 2000 compilation The Collector's Series, Volume One also included it. A re-recorded solo version by Céline Dion (re-named "A Mother's Prayer") appeared on her 2004 Miracle album. Also, Andrea Bocelli performed the song alongside Heather Headley on the Under the Desert Sky CD/DVD.
The song was popular on the Adult Contemporary charts in Canada and the United States, peaking at #8 and #22 respectively.

Vessel No 6 - "Over the rainbow" by Connie Talbot

The Singing Angel - Connie Talbot

Connie Talbot (born 20 November 2000) is an English child singer from Streetly, Metropolitan Borough of Walsall, West Midlands. She rose to fame in 2007 when she reached the final of the television talent show Britain's Got Talent.

Unless you are extremely patient or else her videos are extremely popular on Youtube, I could hardly play any of her videos, the minimum view rates are at least 70-80K anytime.

These are the fastest download tracks that I could find at the moment. Try the last one live at the BGT Show "Britain Got Talent".

Vessel No 5 "Nothing Sacred" by Russell Watson

"Nothing Sacred - A Song For Kirsty" by Russell Watson

In late 2002, Russell Watson released the single "Nothing Sacred - A Song For Kirsty" to raise money for the Francis House children's hospice in Didsbury, Manchester. Their campaign to raise £5 million was fronted by Kirsty Howard, a seven-year-old girl with a serious heart defect.

Lyrics

If a love as strong as ours
Couldn't make it all the way
Can anything make sense at all?

If a love so deep and true
Couldn't stand the test of time
Then Mount Everest could slide
And Jerusalem could fall

Is nothing sacred anymore?
Is forever just another word?

Is a promise something people used to keep
When love was worth the fighting for?

If we can say goodbye
If we can say goodbye
Is nothing sacred anymore?
If we can say goodbye
Is nothing sacred anymore?

Our love was as certain as the dawn
As solid and safe as it ever could be
Our love was a star you wish upon
And you thought that I said "you"
I could have sworn that you say "me"

Is nothing sacred anymore?
Is forever just another word?
Is a promise something people used to keep
When love was worth the fighting for?

If we can say goodbye
If we can say goodbye
Is nothing sacred anymore?

Is nothing sacred anymore?
Is forever just another word?

Is a promise something people used to keep
When love was worth the fighting for?

If we can say goodbye
If we can say goodbye
Is nothing sacred anymore?

If we can say goodbye
Is nothing sacred anymore?
Is nothing sacred anymore?

"Lord Heavenly Father, You are the almighty. We pray that you bless your healing hands upon those who are in need for they like us are all your precious ones". Should it be Your will for us to suffer, You will made the suffering more bearable because You are with us always. And for all these we pray in the most glorious name of Jesus. Amen!"

Vessel No 4 "Music of the Night" by 1) Russell Watson 2) Josh Groban

Music of the Night

This is definitely one of Daddy's favourite

Performed by Russell Watson

Performed by Josh Groban

"The Music of the Night" is a song from the musical The Phantom of the Opera. It is one of the show's most famous songs and one of the most famous songs in musical theatre. The popular song has sold millions of copies worldwide and has been translated into many different languages. The music was written by Andrew Lloyd Webber and the lyrics were written by Charles Hart. The song was made famous by Michael Crawford, the actor who originated the role of the Phantom both in London and on Broadway. The Really Useful group filmed a video Starring Crawford and Brightman (who did not sing) which featured the original lyrics to the song.

It is sung after the Phantom lures Christine Daaé down to his lair beneath the Opera house. He seduces Christine with "his music" of the night. Eventually, the Phantom pulls back a curtain to reveal a life-size doll of Christine in a wedding gown, causing her to faint. The Phantom carries Christine to a bed, where he lays her down and goes on to write his music. Sarah Brightman declared at the London's Royal Albert Hall Concert in 1997 [1], that the song was originally written by Andrew Lloyd Webber for her, the first time he met her. It was later added into the Phantom of the Opera musical.

1 year before The Phantom Of The Opera even opened at Her Majesty's Theatre, the original version of the song was performed at Andrew Lloyd Webber's own theatre Sydmonton, along with the first drafts of the show. The audience were a specially gathered groups of Webber's acquaintances. The Phantom was played by Colm Wilkinson, who sang The Music Of The Night in Act One. As the lyrical assistance of Charles Hart had not yet touched the song, the lyrics were (in places) very different from the ones used in the 3 versions below.

Sarah Brightman declared at the London's Royal Albert Hall Concert in 1997 [2], that the song was originally written by Andrew Lloyd Webber for her, the first time he met her. That version had different lyrics and was called Married Man. The lyrics were later rewritten and the song was added into the Phantom of the Opera musical.

Lyrics

Nighttime sharpens, heightens each sensation
Darkness stirs and wakes imagination
Silently the senses abandon their defences

Slowly, gently, night unfurls its splendour
Grasp it, sense it, tremulous and tender
Turn your face away from the garish light of day
Turn your face away from cold, unfeeling light
And listen to the music of the night

Close you eyes and surrender to your darkest dreams
Leave all thoughts of the world you knew before
Close your eyes, let your spirit start to soar
And you'll live as you've never lived before

Softly, deftly, music shall caress you
Hear it, feel it, secretly possess you
Open up your mind, let your fantasies unwind
In this darkness which you know you cannot fight
The darkness of the music of the night

Let your mind start a journey through a strange, new world
Leave all thoughts of the world you knew before
Let your soul take you where you long to go
Only then can you belong to me

Floating, falling, sweet intoxication
Touch me, trust me, savour each sensation
Let the dream begin, let your darker side give in
To the harmony which dreams alone can write
The power of the music of the night

You alone can make my song take flight
Help me make the music of the night

Music: Andrew Lloyd Webber.
Lyrics: Charles Hart; additional lyrics by Richard Stilgoe.
Show: "The phantom of the opera" (1986).

Vessel No 3 "Volare" by Russell Watson

Volare

Believe it or not, this song is Noelle's favourite, as she loves to sing along in the O Oh O Oh parts!

"Nel blu dipinto di blu" ("In the blue painted blue"), popularly known as "Volare" (Italian for the infinitive form of the verb "to fly"), is Domenico Modugno's signature song. It is the only song ever by an Italian artist to reach number one on the Billboard Hot 100.

Written by Domenico Modugno (music and lyrics) and Franco Migliacci (lyrics), "Nel blu dipinto di blu" was presented by Domenico Modugno and Johnny Dorelli at the 1958 Sanremo Music Festival, winning the contest and achieving instant popularity. It was then chosen to represent Italy in the 1958 Eurovision Song Contest and came third.
The song is a ballad in a dramatic chanson style, in which Modugno describes the feeling he has (which he likens to flying) when with his lover.

The song was performed first on the night (preceding the Netherlands' Corry Brokken with Heel De Wereld). At the close of voting, it had received 13 points, placing 3rd in a field of 10.
It was succeeded as Italian representative at the 1959 Contest by "Piove (Ciao, ciao bambina)", also performed by Modugno.

The song became widely known as "Volare", from its refrain, and reached the top of the charts all over the world through translations into various languages: "Dans le bleu du ciel bleu", France (translated by Jacques Larue in 1958); "En el azul del cielo", Spain; "Jouw ogen", Belgium; "Taivaan sinessä", Finland; "Azul pintado de azul", Mexico, Argentina, Brazil.
A year after the Eurovision the first Grammy Awards ceremony was held, and Modugno received awards for both Song of the Year and Record of the Year. Billboard magazine also awarded Modugno a prize for best song of the year, and he received three gold records from the recording industry: best singer, best song, best-seller album.

The song's popularity endures, and it was voted as the second favourite entry in the history of the Eurovision Song Contest at the 50th anniversary concert in Copenhagen, Denmark, 2005.
The song has been covered dozens of times over the years. Versions were quickly recorded after the initial success - partly in English, partly in Italian - by The McGuire Sisters and Dean Martin. Mitchell Parish also prepared lyrics in English. Bobby Rydell had a top-ten hit with it in the summer of 1960. A Spanish version (partly in Italian) was recorded by the Gipsy Kings.
Sergio Franchi sang the song, with modified lyrics, as the television spokesman for the Plymouth Volaré in the 1970s.

It has even been used in a 2004 Arby's TV commercial.
A version was used by fans of Arsenal to serenade the midfielder Patrick Vieira, and Manchester United fans have created versions for cult heroes Diego Forlan and Nemanja Vidic, as well as a parody of Arsenal's song for Vieira, mocking the midfielder's error in the 1999 FA Cup Semi-Final replay which led to Ryan Giggs' famous extra-time winner.
It is also present in the video game Counter-Strike, within the map "cs_italy".
When former New York Mets catcher Paul Lo Duca would bat at Shea Stadium, a small snippet of the song would play.

At RFK Stadium the phrase "Volare" is played over the PA system during Washington National games when the opposing pitcher throws over to first base (to check the runner).
In the first season of "Quantum Leap" in the episode Double Identity the title character Dr. Sam Beckett is shown singing the song.

Domenico's Modugno's recording of this song was the first Grammy winner for Record of the Year (1958). It is also the very first, and so far, only foreign-language recording (sung entirely in Italian) to take this top honor.

Lyrics

Nel blu dipinto di blu (Volare)
Blue painted in the blue (Flying)

Penso che un sogno così non ritorni mai più
I think such a dream will never come back

Mi dipingevo le mani e la faccia di blu
I painted my hands and my face blue

Poi d'improvviso venivo dal vento rapito
Then suddenly I was ravished by the wind

E incominciavo a volare nel cielo infinito
And I started flying in the infinite sky

Volare, oh oh...
Flying, oh oh...
Cantare, ohohoho...
Singing, ohohoho...

Nel blu dipinto di blu
Blue painted in the blue

Felice di stare lassù
Happy to be up there

E volavo, volavo felice
And I was flying, flying happily

Più in alto del sole ed ancora più su
Higher than the sun and even higher

Mentre il mondo pian piano spariva, lontano laggiù
While the world was slowly disappearing, far beneath

Una musica dolce suonava soltanto per me
A soft music was playing just for me

Volare, oh oh...
Flying, oh oh..
Cantare, ohohoho...
Singing, ohohoho...
Nel blu dipinto di blu
Blue painted in the blue
Felice di stare lassù
Happy to be up there

Ma tutti i sogni nell'alba svaniscono perché
But all the dreams fade away at dawn, because

Quando tramonta, la luna li porta con sé
While setting, the moon takes them away

Ma io continuo a sognare negli occhi tuoi belli
But I keep dreaming in your beautiful eyes

Che sono blu come un cielo trapunto di stelle
Which are as blue as a sky quilted with stars

Volare, oh oh...
Flying, oh oh...
Cantare, ohohoho...
Singing, ohohoho...

Nel blu degli occhi tuoi blu
In the blue of your blue eyes

Felice di stare quaggiù
Happy to be down here

E continuo a volare felice
And I keep flying happily

Più in alto del sole ed ancora più su
Higher than the sun and even higher

Mentre il mondo pian piano scompare negli occhi tuoi blu
While the world is slowly disappearing in your blue eyes

La tua voce è una musica dolce che suona per me
Your voice is a soft music playing for me

Volare, oh oh...
Flying, oh oh...
Cantare, ohohoho...
Singing, ohohoho...

Nel blu degli occhi tuoi blu
In the blue of your blue eyes

Felice di stare quaggiù
Happy to be down here

Nel blu degli occhi tuoi blu
In the blue of your blue eyes

Felice di stare quaggiù con te
Happy to be down here with you

Vessel No 2 "I believe" by Russell Watson

I Believe

A Time for Everything

1 There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under heaven:
2 a time to be born and a time to die,
a time to plant and a time to uproot,

3 a time to kill and a time to heal,
a time to tear down and a time to build,

4 a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance,

5 a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
a time to embrace and a time to refrain,

6 a time to search and a time to give up,
a time to keep and a time to throw away,

7 a time to tear and a time to mend,
a time to be silent and a time to speak,

8 a time to love and a time to hate,
a time for war and a time for peace.

9 What does the worker gain from his toil?

10 I have seen the burden God has laid on men.

11 He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the hearts of men; yet they cannot fathom what God has done from beginning to end.

12 I know that there is nothing better for men than to be happy and do good while they live.

13 That everyone may eat and drink, and find satisfaction in all his toil—this is the gift of God.

14 I know that everything God does will endure forever; nothing can be added to it and nothing taken from it. God does it so that men will revere him.

15 Whatever is has already been, and what will be has been before; and God will call the past to account.

16 And I saw something else under the sun: In the place of judgment—wickedness was there, in the place of justice—wickedness was there.

17 I thought in my heart, "God will bring to judgment both the righteous and the wicked, for there will be a time for every activity, a time for every deed."

18 I also thought, "As for men, God tests them so that they may see that they are like the animals.

19 Man's fate is like that of the animals; the same fate awaits them both: As one dies, so dies the other. All have the same breath ; man has no advantage over the animal. Everything is meaningless.

20 All go to the same place; all come from dust, and to dust all return.

21 Who knows if the spirit of man rises upward and if the spirit of the animal goes down into the earth?"

22 So I saw that there is nothing better for a man than to enjoy his work, because that is his lot. For who can bring him to see what will happen after him?

Vessel No 1 "Nella Fantasia" by 1) Sarah Brightman 2) Russell Watson

A friend recommended me to the Russell Watson's album and lead me into starting this blog to capture all the beautifully written lyrics and rythms.

Classical Vessel No 1

Nella Fantasia

"Nella Fantasia" ("In My Fantasy") is an Italian song based on the theme "Gabriel's Oboe" from the film The Mission (1986). With music by famed composer Ennio Morricone and lyrics by Chiara Ferraù, "Nella Fantasia" is popular among classical crossover singers, and has been performed by numerous artists and groups such as Amici Forever, Celtic Woman (Chloë Agnew), Sarah Brightman, Garðar Thór Cortes, Il Divo, Katherine Jenkins, Russell Watson, Wendy Kokkelkoren with Guido's Orchestra and Summer Watson. In 2007, the winner of the first season of the British TV show Britain's Got Talent, Paul Potts, covered this song on his album One Chance.

Origin
"Nella Fantasia" first appeared on Sarah Brightman's album Eden (1998). On the March 1999 video recording of her "One Night in Eden" concert, when introducing the song she said:[1]
“ My next song was originally an instrumental written by the composer Ennio Morricone for the film The Mission. About three years ago I wrote Mr. Morricone, asking if he would give me permission to turn this particular piece into a song. He flatly refused. So every two months I would send yet another begging letter, until I think he got so sick of me he finally relented. And I am really glad that he did, because I think it works beautifully as a song.”

Lyrics

Italian

Nella fantasia io vedo un mondo giusto,
Li tutti vivono in pace e in onestà.
Io sogno d'anime che sono sempre libere,
Come le nuvole che volano,
Pien' d'umanità in fondo all'anima.
Pien' d'umanità in fondo all'anima.

English translation

In my fantasy I see a just world,
Where everyone lives in peace and in honesty.
I dream of spirits that are always free,
Like the clouds that fly,
Full of humanity in the depths of the spirit.
In my fantasy I see a bright world,
Where each night there is less darkness.
I dream of spirits that are always free,
Like the clouds that fly.
Full of humanity.
In my fantasy exists a warm wind,
That breathes into the city,
like a friend.
I dream of spirits that are always free,
Like the clouds that fly,
Full of humanity in the depths of the spirit.
